Maybe it's just my interpretation of 'shows' - to me shows are only at a theatre, not so much movies and so on.

Yes, in the U.K., "TV programs" is more widely used. But over here in Europe and, also in the U.S., the term "TV SHOWS" is more commonly employed and recognized.

All in all, this particular auction should do very well in my opinion.

Just hope Rick has contacted most of these end users or at least sent them an email with a link to the auction. Only takes a few minutes and can completely change the last 5 minutes of an auction.

This is my hope for sure!

Also, I have been curious about the Candy.com transaction as well. Any insider information would be greatly appreciated.

Very strange that the domain hasn't changed hands yet...I hope there is nothing 'fishy' with this sale...

I recall hearing Rick mention that he offered "financing" to the new owner of candy.com. If so it may not switch hands until it's fully paid for.

Check out his most recent interview where he mentions this fact.

I don't always agree with Rick, but he is one of the most interesting and smooth business men I've ever come across.

If I remember correctly, Rick bought the domain for something like $150,000 and the domain was bringing in several thousand a month from ads. I definitely thing it was a smart idea to sell the domain exactly the way he did it because:

1.) $3m in the bank can fund a lot of acquisitions
2.) residuals will end up making him as much as he made before

All hail the king.

ricksblog.com

personally property.com was always one of my favourite domains in existence and mindboggling potential. that was worth what he got all day long. although, it doesnt look 'developed' and very poor design. Rick you really need to get some decent developers

with this candy sale, i think he got way over its worth. i mean how many people buy that online? sure maybe belgian chocolates etc , but markup is small on sweets and people really love to buy themselves and you can buy them ANYWHERE, and people want NOW, not even tomorrow. anyway congrats to Rick, this is another ireport sale imo where although this is a pure generic, its never worth a fraction of this imho

It seems to be going through. Rick just wrote on his blog that the sale is about complete and could even close today.

It'll be interesting to find out who bought it when the press release hits.

He also writes in his blog that he will receive 2% royalties for as long as 15 years, so the sum is actually much more than 3 million. Again congratulations to Rick!

Rick said from the beginning that the deal would take months. Doesn't anyone ever read his blog?

Indeed. Don't you know how long it takes to push a domain between Sedo accounts?
