Empiricallly, we have too many bad guys living happily ever after while the good die young; theoretically, it's almost impossible to prove causation in social science when too many variables are floating around, and the best we could do is mapping correlation.

For those who are ill-informed about China's population policy, Mao actually ignored then (1950s) prominent economist (and chancellor of Peking University) Ma Yinchu's advice to control population growth. Ma was then severely assaulted by the government machine, and forced to retire because of that. It was only after Mao's death in 1976 that the Chinese government dare to pick this up again. However, China's population has almost doubled during those 30 years (jumping from 0.5 to 1 billion). So instead of modelling after Hong Kong, then a British colony, which uses civic education to successfully sell that two is enough, China resorts to the more radical one child policy.

Karma is usually inflicted on descendants. Children, if not, grandchildren. And sometimes the bad guy lives very long, to see that happen.

In old China, and now even in North Korea, the state imposes "Karma" on 3 generations. Many 30 year old North Koreans are in prison because their grandfather fought for the south. Their children maybe released though since the retribution is only for 3 generations.

That is also why Vegas locals like Sands and MGM Mirage have ALREADY invested heavily there (Macau) in case you're not aware of that.
For those who are following the casino business, MGM Mirage decides to pick Macau over Atlantic City:

    Best Chinese DNS auction site?

A related question, though not directly on point, but lest I forget:

What is the best website to buy or sell IDNs that use dot-com extension?

for example, 汽车.COM (where 汽车 means Car or Cars in Chinese)
(no, I don't own that domain name, but just use it as an example)

It appears you know the Chinese domain market well, so I ask.

    Thanks for any input.
