This will be very interesting to watch...

P.S. - going to snap up some cityof.info domains now!

Which likely means that they were either sold to the same person and/or will turn out to be fraudulent. In either case, using them to try to determine prices for similar names is still way premature.Originally posted by mayor

Frankly, that seems high for even the .com version, but then there may be someone out there who is both desperate for the names and has money burning a hole in his pocket.

According to DNJournal, these names are on record as being completed transactions. I truly believe .info is the new .com. Only time will tell of course...

That is correct. We ask sedo to only give us names that have completed the escrow process, been paid for and transferred to the new owner. As I noted in this week's sales column I think the buyer paid too much for that domain. I could see it for Berkeley.info but not for an unwieldy three-word variant like that. I will be very surprised if any more of those CityOfWhatever domains - especially for small cities like Berkeley - fetch anywhere near that in the near future. Having said that I do believe that .info has a very bright future - the signs are everywhere and the sales are picking up rapidly.Originally posted by mayor

What about the bigger cities? cityofchicago.info, cityofdallas.info, cityofnewyork.info... seems to me those would be no brainers to show up on the scene soon. They're gone.. that's for sure.

California should be an independent country added with Mexico. Everything is different from other states. cityofberkeley.info deserves every penny of that money.Originally Posted by mayor
LOL! I can't disagree with that...
Berkeley should be its own little country. Like Monaco. But instead of a picturesque seaside city filled with glamorous casinos and hotels, reclusive billionaires, and visiting movie stars, its got horrible commute traffic, smelly and agressive homeless, and permanent resident dissidents and crackpots. And Oakland as a neighbor.
www.annexberkeley.com anyone?
