Wow you mean it beat all these crap TLDs now that's an achievement But even .tel has been doing equally well in terms of figures.

    Interesting sale

"I think .me is particularly relevant to cloud technology, which is all about how a person can do everything in life (compute, phone, listen to music, etc.) through the cloud."

    Good info, that explains it.

In my opinion .ME is only so popular because of all the heavy promotion, most (non novelty/hack) .me names will probably be worth about as much as .CC soon ($xx-$xxx)

To me, it works ONLY as a domain hack, which it does very well at.
    skype.me, tweet.me, f*ck.me, phone.me
    Obviously, they have value.

    its still about Marketing though.

Not one single person would ever type cloud.me into a browser BEFORE this sale.

Every day when I login into SnapNames, I wonder why on earth anyone would build a portfolio of .me domains. There is so much gold out there dropping on a daily basis in .com, .net, and .org.

If there has been a better name than Cloud.me
available on SnapNames name drop please feel
free to post. There is loads of statistical data to
back up the value of the .me extension. Including
the sale price of Cloud.me ($22,000 plus dollars).
Most people are critical of the .me because they
have so much invested in .com that it threatens there
own returns, the key in every business is diversity and
.me is a great way to diversify and plan for the Future.
    Cheers.

Everyone that latches onto what they regard as the latest things assumes it will make them a fortune. Generally speaking it won't. There has to be an underlying compelling logic to make things fly. Some just won't, and others because that logic is so compelling won't go away, however, much others try to kill them off. Perhaps dot ME has it, but I have looked and all I see is delusion. Many will say the same about IDN, and to date they have been a financial disaster, but even so I have probably grossed more than has been grossed on the whole dot ME registry. Trust me $22K is pretty small beer by any standards, and it is still money down the drain.

Huh ? If you are inclined to spend 22K you can acquire very solid names. Plenty of venues: Sedo, SN or NJ. So many opportunities right now - it's a buyer market.
.me has some potential but there are only so many names that are valuable. It's nothing more than glorified domain hacks and as a whole the extension is a overrated as .tv.

My purchase of don.me for $100 is looking better all the time.

Couldn't argue with that, if we could all get the same Price/Value then we would all be millionaires. Has to be a bit of dubious Buy though, don't you think!

Considering cloud.me sold for $105 in the landrush auctions, it was a great ROI. Congrats to the seller.

Whether it was worth 22k or not, only time will tell.
But with the buzz (and advertising) around cloud hosting, I think it may do ok.

    Cheers
