If DVD's can manage to stay around a couple more years, it may still be marketable and profitable. But you are correct...timing the sale would be crucial. It would be like selling vhs.com with a reserve of $50K. Is it any wonder it did not sell?
When Mark McGwire broke the record of HR's, his rookie cards could easily bring 450 bucks. Today, perhaps 20-25.
The point being I think it would have been time to let VHS go for what it could have gotten vs. what it once was.
