EuroDNS launches whois.de!

Luxembourg 1st September – EuroDNS, in partnership with sedo, is glad to announce the launch of the newly created whois.de service (www.whois.de), a major platform to gather a wealth of information about Internet domain names including ownership lookup and availability for Registration.
The service uses the data available from databases maintained by official Internet Registries (i.e : .DE, .Com, .Fr…) whose main purpose is to determine who is the owner of any given domain name. « Over the years Whois Services have been used more and more by a variety of Internet stakeholders, from domain name buyers to law enforcement officers » comments Xavier Buck, CEO of EuroDNS « by regrouping the data provided by more than 50+ Registries in one convenient interface, we will enable users to do much more than that ».
Indeed, Whois.DE offers a lot more than just a domain owner lookup. Every query offers additional information, including availibity check for an identical name in more than fifty additional Top Level Domains. Additionaly, thanks to a partnership with sedo, the leading Domain Name brokerage company, any query will show in realtime which of these domains are available for acquisition in the aftermarket.
The flexible Whois.DE interface will bring a consistent interface to any user, whether it wishes to buy the domain from a third-party through SEDO’s service or, if available, register it directly thanks to EuroDNS one-click backend.
Because privacy issues have often been an issue regarding Whois data, limits have been setup to try and avoid data-mining using the service « Not only do we follow privacy requirements from all Top Level Domains for which the Service is available, we exceed them, to ensure that Whois.de is used for the absolute benefit of Internet users » stresses Jean-Christophe Vignes, EVP & General Counsel of EuroDNS.

Whois.de also displays extended information on the web site linked to the domain name, including its webhost, its Alexa ranking, links that points to the site, the site’s history. Do you store any of the information on domains that have been searched for?

We do not store any information on performed requests. The system do not require any identification and do not share any information with third parties.

I used old whois.de to check all cctlds at one time, will be this option available again?

The option is available. We check the domain in several countries at time.

i'm not sure if dnforum is the right place to advertise

we (all) know how to search whois
and we know how to search sedo

and some of us have even tools for it

and
it seems that the website is in german
