"Fast-Fingered Domainer Flips Bush Library URL For $35,000"

Domain squatters snatched away the domain name GeorgeWBushLibrary.com and made an easy $34,990 profit on promptly selling it to back to Yuma Solutions, the web development company that let it expire. Yuma has been a contractor for the Bush family for quite some time, and the domain name they accidentally let expire belonged to the George W. Bush Library Foundation. It originally bought the domain in 2007 from another squatter for $3,000.

It looks like Yuma is going to have to eat the cost of not renewing the domain.

The Dallas Morning News reports:

Mark Langdale, president of the George W. Bush Library Foundation, said Tuesday that he didn’t know about the Web site being lost and recovered. But, he said, he would know if the library had been stuck with a surprise $35,000 expenditure.

The name of the squatter who so adeptly flipped the URL is, appropriately enough, Illuminati Karate (which is another Web design firm in Raleigh, North Carolina).

That sucks Randomo...not sure how much you would have gotten for it now anyways since that's a Bush that hasn't been president in a while, but probably something. Noble of you to do what you had done though. Who knows, maybe they'll do a favor like loan you a private jet for a day

I talked to Illuminati Karate on the phone after they did this. They are pretty cool people. Anyways I think anyone should have the right to buy any domain. People should care less about domain squatting and start to wonder why parking tickets are 50 - 75$ and why we pay property tax, why we pay outrageous school taxes in the USA, why we dont have free health care.

I say buy what you want and sell it for what you want to sell it for. I believe
in freedom. The nay sayers don't like squatters because they fear more regulation of the internet, but what they should despise is ICANN and large corporations.
