It has some 28000 registrants and sites that resolve for example save.nsk.su/english/ Now ICANN wants in its heavy handed ways to kill it 10 years later! There is an intertesting article in Wired on the subject.
Something tells me this is wrong especially in the "quiet" way this is being done by ICANN, so I am posting this here to give the issue some exposure. I knew the TLD existed but I was not aware that there were thousands of registrations and working sites untill I saw the wired article.
Ther article says that a decision was to have been made at the ICANN meeting in Shanghai back in October. I don't remember seeing anything on this from the Shanghai meeting, or at the Amsterdam meeting a few weeks ago. Looks like .su is still operating. Anyone else know what's up?
