Just a quick note to see what you think on the LLLL.com situation?
At the start of this week, there were about 5-6k of them left. Now there are less than 2.5k left (and 1k have been registered in the last 3-4 hours!)
This is pretty cool - it seems that all LLLL.coms will be taken in the next 24 hoursHave you invested much in them, or do you think they're over-hyped?

I like LLLL.com's in general, but think it's a stretch to register the very worst ones (QKJX.com or whatever), as it's hard to imagine them being very useful as acronyms. (I know that all LLL.com's & .net's have value, but a random group of 3 bad letters is much more memorable - and more likely to make a good acronym - than a random group of 4 bad letters.)

Didn't know it was so close. Shouldn't take long now.

christ! newver thought these last ones would get eaten up like this.
do you think they are getting tasted, or just nailed?
if continues like this, prob gone by end weekend![]()
Expect tens of thousands to drop after they are being tasted.
Only about 1300 left.. looks like they will all be registered in just a few hours

According to my scan : 1275 left.
Of course some are being tasted, but not too many as new registrations have been growing consistently lately.
I'm pretty sure in a few months there will be no more available and all dropped domains will be snapped

LLLL's are not like LLL's or LLN's etc.
Whoever mass-registers all these "junky" letter combos either tastes them or will drop them a year from now.
Wow, this coming from the real experienced members...
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I completely disagree. I have nothing more to say, well see in a year or 2 who made the better decision![]()

Alot of people said the same thing about LLL.coms at one point and L-L.coms.... it only takes one decent sale to make the risk worth wild. A lot of people hated .mobi but nontheless, it is reaping profits.... and thats what it comes down to. If someone buys 100 LLLL.com of low to semi quality letters then in under a year sells them for just $20, thats profit. I personally did quality over quantity but both do make money.
There are a lot more L-L-L.com's developed than I thought at first. It doesn't matter if most domainers hate the dash, end users and businesses are using these types of names for sites.
Other countries and languages use Q, K, Z, X etc. a lot more than english speakers, so an LLLL.com with crappy letters could be a good domain in some parts of the world. The problem is if you don't know what you're doing, you have to buy a whole bunch and hope to get a few good ones.
What does a business with a three letter acronym do if they want a short domain but can't afford their LLL.com? BNA company might want B-N-A.com for example.
There are only 17.5K possible L-L-L.com combinations, and 457.0 K possible LLLL.com. In other words, the ratio is 1:26. And I'd bet there are more three letter acronyms than 4 letter acronyms. So to me, L-L-L.com has potentially greater demand and also less supply. Ofcourse, pronouncable LLLL and nice letters LLLL are also good, but those were gone long ago.
In ten years time, both classes of domains will probably be in high demand. Look how LLL.com perception has changed in only 5 years.
