You're not making any sense. How does that have anything to do with what I said?

I quoted your response to Socalboy. You seem to respond nonchalantly, as if it's not evident the purported buyer has supremacist affiliations. Sure, the letters "SS" can have hundreds of meanings and uses; but the alleged buyer is displaying specific use of it.

While the transaction hasn't been completed yet, a definite agreement had been reached. The domain is indeed off the market and awaiting payment. However, we are currently considering and analyzing our options based on this surprising turn of events, and I'll be glad to comment further at the appropriate time.

Hmmm I will have to say that I don't agree with this sale. Yes, the money is nice, but I think I would've held onto my morals for 1.25 million. With a name like SS.com you'd have to be careful who you sold it to. It might've been better to hold onto a name like that...either just to keep it safe or until someone with a decent idea stepped-up to the plate.

Easy to say, but I don't think the seller saw it coming... and after the buyer showed his colors it was too late, unless you would be willing to break the contract and sell it for a million less to someone else... It was worth 1.25 million before this buyer ruined it...

Out of interest tm3500 - how did you find the buyer?

I think it still easily is worth whatever someone wants to pay (easily 6-7 figures) for it. The first image that came to my mind with the SS.com domain, unfortunately was the Nazi SS. I think this domain could easily change people's first impressions of the "SS" term for a new generation (I hope)...as long as the domain eventually falls into the "right" hands (ie - anyone not associated with racism vues, and hopefully a company or individual with enough money to market the right message and promote the domain).

It never was worth 1.25 million. When you pretend you're buying something you can pay any figure.

Presuming this purchase will never be completed. But we don't know that yet. All we have are a lot of assumptions.

His last press release on this sale will be that the seller backed out.

I would be proud to make a sale to the devil as long as I don't have to throw in my soul.

I'd be like, "can I gift wrap that for you Sir".

Actually I would like to think that I would back down from that amount of money. I have a previous history of family affected by WWII. I wouldn't accept any amount of money if I knew it was going into the hands of a racist. As it stands, $1-2 million is actually not that much money these days and definitely would not be a hard choice for me.

You didn't answer the question.

But how would you know who the potential buyer is? I mean, you can inquire all day about his intentions with the name, but he can easily misrepresent himself until after payment is made.

Yes, this is a problem. I don't blame the seller if this is the case as I doubt he knew. I do however blame him for not being more diligent in doing research about the buyer, especially for what the sale is reported as.

Lol, what question? If I'd do it?...then the answer is no, not at this time in my life.

Yeah, but that's not what Socal was talking about either. He said, and I am paraphrasing here, that the domain could never be used by anyone for any reason because it was "toxic waste". I was simply calling bullshit on that.
