Re: google Web Site Domain Names: Register Them or Lose Them - San Diego Business Jou

That article was very misleading to people who know nothing about domains.

Some registries offer the option of locking domain names, which prevents someone from stealing your domain name.
Sure it's an extra layer of protection but it makes readers think that their domains will be stolen if they dont. Plus it's an extra security measure, but there are still ways to steal if the thief is clever enough and the domain owner is stupid enough!

Chad Folkening, who owned several hundred domains but who sometimes missed domain renewal deadlines, noticed that Ye [the 'thief'] was snapping up his domains at the moment they expired and acquired 100, which is worth noting.
He 'sometimes missed renewal deadlines'??? He didn't get them back after multiple emails even through the redemption period? He's an idiot. He is not like most people running a business.

It’s a good investment to protect your domain by registering different country extensions of your domain, such as .ca or other extensions, such as .info or .org....One domain registration costs $6 per year.
We know that figure varies from registrar to registrar, as well as whether it's a .com or a .info - yet they make out that there's a blanket $6 fee.

I know I'm being picky with this article but I have so many complaints about it...
