WOW This will have a BIG impact on all the reseller / auction sites. GreatDomains shutting down is just a small part of this. I assume that Register.com and Afternic had the same idea. Seems they're taking the hint from sedo. So as I take it, us reseller dudes and gals will be asked to pay a fee to list our names to resolve as for sale when someone types in a name to register at the participating registrars.
I'd like to keep up on this. Has anyone talked to their registrar to find out if they will be participating and what the "fees" will be to place a name listing on the search engines?
We all need to follow this one! Doc

will find something else to do. On the other side, ****** is not going to eat spam next month.
The cost for a Domain Appraisal is only $7.50 a month based on the number of distinct Appraisal Results provided by ****** during each calendar month.
The cost for Listing a domain into the ****** Name Store database is only $7.50. The $7.50 fee covers standard three-month Listing.
Your List Price must be greater than or equal to $75 and less than or equal to $5,000.
For a list price between $75-$416, the purchase service fees is $55 only.
For a list price between $417-$5,000, the percentage of the purchase service fee is 15% only.

Back to the topic.
I guess I'm the ONLY one who has benefited from this BIG CHANGE: I've got a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate from Verisign/GreatDomains for taking part in their interview back in August 2002.

Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, Nameslave unrepentantly embraces Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard using the #Minimalist method inspired at least partly by the music of Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
GD was next after Afternic.com and the mergers will continue.
Everyone work smarter, not harder.

It us fairly public knowledge how much Register.com paid for Afternic (about $40 million).
Does anybody know how much VeriSLIME paid for GreatDomains?

I read that they paid in the region of (87 Million Dollars) cash & stock deal.

Actually the bigger story here is how much Verisign paid for NetSol......$20 Billion.
I can't believe the shareholders of Verisign continue to let Stratton Scalvos remain as the CEO....
hmmmm I see a new prediction to add to the (10) I already gave for 2003: Scalvos is gone in March 2003.

Its good to see the GreatDomains has dissuaded people from engaging in fastasy asking price listings![]()
And this is the "new" regime? Why don't we take a poll and wager when the "New" GreatDomains folds? I guess they'll then launch the New New Great Domains in response![]()
