Mars spends $3B annually on advertising. Mostly a $1 candy
Long list of premium domains owned by major brands is at:
InternetDomainName.info

Best list of preimium names owned by major brands that I've seen
I'll try to offer to mars or nestlè cacao.com![]()
Poignant...
A budget like that for a profit that reportedly dropped over 60% recently due to overhead to just over 200 Mil annually. Acquisition of the name would potentially be of great benefit.
Some people spend several years of profit for ownership of revenue domains.
Do this math [$3B yearly vs. (several million + a significant decrease in advertising overhead necessity) ] VS. $3B advertising your product as generic, one-keyword, dictionary, type-in name = paydirt + profit-wise (potentially).

Well, with the US interest rate at 2% and most of the risk negated by strong year on year online growth, 50x revenue would be a more rational starting point. Whoever is selling natural parking traffic at 2-3 times annual really needs their head examining.
I am not talking about developed, contrived or manipulated traffic here.

I think if a company like mars was to buy candy.com it would be a good decision, I am not sure it is worth 5-10 million at the moment though as some of you here are saying. However I do think it will reach a million if it was to sell.
For many investors today the domain indusrty is unkown to them. Now this can be looked upon as both an advatage and disadvatage, as once big investors and the mass market get into the domain industry the prices will rise sharp. But when they enter this industry in the masses is still very unkown, however I think the next 2 years could see that happen as a lot of investors are going to look to invest somewhere else and not property... so virtual real estate could be next.
