congrats to the seller! sick life.
incredible sale
Hooray for the hyphen! Two word key phrases like this can sell well with the hyphen, although this was a really good example.

makes my hotel domain sound better every day; congrats to both parties
sounds bogus. don't see how a hyphentated name could sell for that much.
I need a sale like this.
I think domainers should start taking hyphenated domains serious i have recently sold a 3 word low quality credit card name with 2 hyphens in it for $1,000 and i regged it. Companies are just interested in the .com and also the keywords .

Yes. The domain was bought by HRS (Hotel Reservation Service) from Germany. Hyphenated domains are more common in Germany than in the US, because hyphens make two-word domains more readable. I still think that it's a high price, but it is in no way unrealistic.
The domain was brokered by sedo, which also sold other domains to HRS lately. For example: WellnessHotels.com (€41,650) and Hotel-Reservierung.de ($34,510; "hotel reservation" in German).
By the way, Hotel-Reservation.com was indirectly owned by sedo, because the former owner, DomCollect, belongs to Sedo as far as I know. DomCollect is one of Germany's largest domain owners with a portfolio of more than 100,000 domains.
How many of you here (after reading this article) tried to find some DN's with a hyphen in it to reg or went into your inventory to see if you could sell any?
