    Exclamation

We have seen lots of sales fall through recently at auction houses and snapnames etc...

Im very surprised to see this names sell for $100K in the current market.

I do wish both parties the best of luck in there transactions but lets wait and see when it charts in DNJournal.com that the sale has closed.

    Regards,

I don't see why a large company making millions of dollars per month would hesitate to pay 100k+ for their company domain name.

I personally wouldn't even think twice. Its not even about the traffic/visibility benefits; its simply a case of pride.

i dont think the software company bought this domain. i think its someone in marketing that knows this domain will be the new demographic in the next 10 years.

Wow, that is some nice forward thinking!

I can see this being highly probable. What with the dominance of the 'i' in our lives - iPod, iPhone, etc., along with our increasing sense of the "I" (as a pronoun), its highly likely that the next generation might be referred to as the iGen.

    Nice!

I wonder if it could have been Xerox that bought the domain?

Xerox has over 1,000 domains and they certainly have the capital.

Xerox has a digital printing press series by the name iGen.

    HI

Did not think it would have been worth that much, but a very nice short domain which is very brandable..

it's a beautiful name... I see it and 2 things come to mind... a very big and powerful pharmafirm (yes pharmafirm.com is taken) or a company planning to push the notion of "internet generation" or something of the sort into public mainstream consumption. Either ways- Very Nice Sale!!!

its a nice domain but I dont think its worth 100k. But I guess it depends on what the buyer has got planned with it.

There is another thread here that says it was reauctioned yet again and only went for 7300 that time, yet dnjournal reports 100k. Can anyone confirm what really happened?

DNJ typically reports the sale AFTER the completion of payment/transfer.

    Link to other thread?

Thanks. I do remember seeing that thread.

So a bogus sale was reported to DNJ?

Wow, must of really had the balls to get away with that. Or a buyer canceled or tried to cancel purchase on card?

    Could be anything.

No that can't be possible as NJ has a policy where purchases over 5k have to be wired.

I started a whole thread on the "other forum" a while back with some interesting discussion.

What's hard to believe?... the possible sell or the 18.23% weight gain thus far over this holiday season BOO YAH... no seriously, please elaborate. As stated in previous post- I personally like the name. It's not a name you throw $100K+ simply because it is aesthetically pleasing without some serious monetization platform/plan in mind. It was probably that big pharma company that starts with a 'W' or that other one that starts with a 'P' or more likely.... N.A.M.B.L.A. Simply put- the price is worth it if there's a business model behind it.. if not... well, butterfly kisses .
