This could set valuation records for private .mobi domain name auctions.

Domain names include - fantasybaseball.mobi, restaurantes.mobi, backgammon.mobi, consultant.mobi, virginislands.mobi, amarillo.mobi, cookbooks.mobi, bondage.mobi, cfo.mobi and 75+ other high value, generic keyword domain names.

.Mobi domain names were first released in mid-2006, and immediately achieved extreme secondary market value. In 2007, flowers.mobi sold for $200,000, music.mobi received bidding that topped out at $600,000.

.Mobi is and will be a legitimate alternative to .com on the mobile web.

1) There is a real need from the carriers to have a successful wireless web. Web surfers = more money through higher turnover with better, more expensive phones as well as more minutes online. Large carriers ultimately benefit ultimately from additional search revenue.

5) Mobi protected the rights of unique/arbitrary trademark holders. In the meantime, they established awareness throughout those communities.

6) Over 1,000,000 .mobi, mobile domain names have been registered.

At the inception of the wireless revolution, and .mobi will be key in the marketing mix.
