    Post Lost Domain Names

This is a recent article from wired.com. It's everyday news for domainers, but the closing paragraph got my attention...

"But ICANN director of communications Mary Hewitt said most lost domains are the result of inattention, not fraud. "Ninety percent of the time when people claim that (their domain has been stolen), they had missed the mail notifying them, or they failed to renew it," Hewitt said. "You should really mark your calendar." "

Next time that you are attacked as a leech, parasite, extortionist or cybersquatter, remember that you are not the person who let the domain name expire.

    A case in point:

A few days ago someone on WHT accused Ultra Search of hijacking his expired NSI domain. The concept that someone else can re-register a domain did not cross his mind.

I think Mary might also get into troble for saying "Ninety percent of the time" - Because it means that %10 of the time it really is fruad.

In short - Netsol was haveing "problems" that someone used to get other peoples domains. He did it for a while, but then started to get some very high profile domains.

Netsol was very slow in responding, and it was just a big mess for a while. Still not fixed totaly
