Someone has nominated Whois-Search to be a moderator. If anyone has any objections to Whois-Search being a moderator, speak now or forever hold your peace.

Now that is novel...but oh so true. One of the things that need to be cleared up in the new forum rules is what is allowed and what is not when you hype your own services.

Many of us believe that hyping your own services is spamming - many of us do not. Clarification will be critical for successful moderation...

Thank you folks very much for the kind words. I believe that I should not be a moderator for three reasons

First, I do not think I have the technical knowledge to do a good job. I believe that one has to watch out for people coming back with different names and IP numbers after having been banned.. and I would not be very good at that.

Second, with summer over and having to develop two new classes this year (one brand new course on the Pharmaceutical Industry -- joint venture of School of Business and School of Pharmacy) I do not think I would have the time to do the job justice.

Third, this whole forum split business has been tough.

I tried to be helpful to prevent it... but ah well. Then, during the period when there were no moderators... I sortof made a commitment in one direction... but am still visiting both. It would be best to pick someone who has stood by GregR and DNForum through thick and thin. GregR is doing good things.

Thanks for thinking of me though. LIke a kid whose parents separate, I wish everyone were together... but we live in a flawed world and make the best of things. Best wishes all.
