Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!When this initially happened on Friday, I was on the phone with BuyDomains discussing what was going on and quite frankly, How I could capture a few of the domains myself.
Granted. I will admit, no one at any point said "This must be an error" The few conversations I had, made it clear that NameMedia had no idea it was a promotion (if it actually had been one).
Now, lets say for a moment it was in fact a promotion / marketing gimmick. The method and the way this was conducted didn't create much buzz until after the fact, they also aren't making it easier to buy domains from them by not distributing a complete listing.
Even if this is the direction they wanted to go (releasing quality domains for pennies on the dollar) it would've been smart to announce it before hand, to create a build-up type buzz. They didn't do that in this case, in fact, we still have not really "heard" from iReit regarding the issue altogether.
So, my opinion that this was an error and not a marketing technique is based on what the conversations I had with BuyDomains and my own common sense.
I will make it a point to call iReit on Monday and ask why this happened and what its purpose was.

iReit has already owned up that some domains were mispriced.
NameBio has made its position clear that it will keep these sales in its database.

Now lets move on...
Domainer since 1975
Generic/LL/LLL
The remaining iREIT domains at Afternic are 99% junk.
I'm not convinced that this was a marketing strategy. Unless iREIT announced it on their site or actually used more publicity on their end, I don't buy it. Any quiet, anonymous buyer could have picked up those names, or they very well could have been ignored from the latest sales list. It really sounds like a dumb mistake (that was later corrected).
You never know when this will happen -- keep your eyes peeled! I was simply looking for LLL .orgs and came across those Friday morning.
I strongly support Justin's view that the sales be included in the sales history on NameBio. To those who feel it should not, stop being so ridiculous. No one in their right mind would think that such short price sales would hurt such a huge market.
Screw you
Wow, someone got lucky...

He lives in Bangkok like me . So today I made a phone call to him to ask if we want to sell those LLL,com to me. When he took my call and I said I want to buy some of his domains . I didn't say what domain I like to buy he said "sorry, my domains are not sale" and the he hung up on me immediately . It is weird ,isn't it ? Maybe ,he got too many phone inquiries .

i ve gotten a few good deals off of afternic. i dont think its a strong marketplace. so any sale on that site seems great. and yes id be pissed if i had to let those names go cause of an error. my guess its a bad interface for importing huge portfolios. I feel there are a few of these sites that dont know how to do it right. the most annoying one is sedo's tool.
