ok, let's move back to the topic...
    1) so any new update on NP response & corrective action taken, anyone knows on this?
    2) also, as a user, will I able to know if the site uses any of the "alarming" scripts to track users...

    3) which all are the famous scripts / programs to track user behavior... any one?

They stopped using the script. Ron posted a thread about it.

How do we know when it is safe to return? Should we wait for another news article indicated the site is now ok?

Sorry, but the DNN article is lacking objectivity and it's failing to disclose certain facts.
I can easily believe that there is subterfuge in the porn world. I find it difficult to believe that there is intentional malfeasance in the (relatively) low level money world of domain boards. Heck, I use Feedjit and a Facebook link on my antique radio site. Maybe I'll soon be accused of trying to illicitly corner that 'huge' market.

Whoever wrote this headline stepped out a bit far given the evidence submitted. It may border on libel. If a big player was named instead of NP, I would imagine that a court date could be coming.

No you did not write the article .. You only choose to post it. I thought that mentioning other domain forums was considered a no-no here? I guess that only goes if its positive mention? IMO this is beneath you. A bit disapointed..

Yeah, they are a bit touchy on that, sometimes a bit much imo. They turned down a news release of the sale of another domain forum but that is their decision.

Blatently promoting and putting links to get members to click off this site to other domain forums would definatley be crossing the line.

Putting the Namepros "news" on a thread here gets the true situation better understood and correct information to those interested was a good thing.

Really? Even when the blog post that is posted is a copy paste from a site that got it wrong? ..When confronted by the facts Adam Strong says "DNN didn’t create the study, DNN didn’t write the other 10 articles that came out the same week before this one, nor the ZDNet one we cited. We re-reported information from other credible venues/sources." .. Washing his hands.. Just like Adam Dicker does in this thread. At some point it would do good to fact check before you post dis-information. But no, people have agendas so why not just run with the libel. I must admit I thought that Dotcomgod was above that sort of thing though. Must be a tough time.

It was probably better that it was posted than not posted... given what is known now and the information shared.

It also allowed people (like you) to let the members here know that the other site "got it wrong".

Other members asked questions to whether it was "safe" to log into namepros etc and got information they needed.

The other side (DNN) omitted information that was material in determining who's at fault, all while the post title branded NamePros as being "outed".

The University report clearly identified the culprit as a third party application and not as a malicious, intentional "trap" set by NamePros. Anyone who read the actual report would have pointed that out.

Well.. This is very professional in return to post this article.
I don't see the use of doing so, exept for making NP look bad. Actually I think this makes DNF look worse and less professional.

There's literally no such thing as "browser history sniffing" and there is no such thing as "history hijacking". The best you can do is track the user's referrer. There's literally thousands upon thousands of sites that show content based on referrer.

The lawsuit makes absolutely no sense.

from what i've read they are saying sites like youporn used some kind of browser exploit that would allow them to 'track' the users arrow (what they clicked on) after visiting youporn.
