they have never heard of it OR they do not see the benefits .
The continents make a difference because they are establishing their own
insulated internet and dont use .com

Anyway time will tell what happens to .com but my prediction is
it will become much less important, not more or even the same.

    Did you dream that?

Granted dot DE is dominant in Germany.

Dot RU is actually dominant in Russia but it is essentially a dead extension. It will be interesting to see whether IDN.com or cyrillic dot RF come to dominate.

Dot JP has only just bust through 1 Million, and a good number of those registrations will soon be rendered redundant.

Registrations in dot CN have exploded, but only in ASCII which they have been virtually giving away. Dot Com dominates the big traffic sites in India.

India is dot com big time.

The Arabic World seems to be years away from establishing and Pan-Arabic extension.

Oh, yes and then there are dot EU and dot Asia.

    Give me a break!

No, the very idea is completely delusional.

No but I can read the Registries own Web Site, and whilst Japanese can be written as Romaji, very few people do it other than for Western TM's, TM's used by the Japanese for export and of course for domains, because most people are still under the illusion that the DNS won't accept anything else. That state affairs is about to be shattered like a hammer through a pain of glass. Indeed, much of the New gTLDs are just a sop to the American's who seem to object to everyone else using their Internet.

My only contribution to this thread is the great Ghostbuster God Rule: If someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!

Oh, and that any company who registers a vanity extension except MAYBE .blog or .web will be losing their money IMO.

This is incorrect. Current gtld, cctld operators will have to apply just like everyone else.

I never said 100%........ You can say whatever you want... What is the .com equivalent in arabic etc??? There isn't always an exact translation......

    .com will reign...

You are funny... Your articles on IDNs are incorrect yet you try to pretend you grasp the concept on the forum...

I agree that .com will reign. The fact that .com doesn't have equivalents is part of the reason that VeriSign will not automatically get the "equivalent" when it is available.

Please point out one false statement in my articles on IDNs rather than making a baseless allegation.
