Think godaddy should take a legal action "to protect their clients" and finish with these scammers !
How Legal Is That- "Available Domain Is Not Available" ?!
Bah!
What netsol is doing has to be illegal. Becuase then if you want that domain you have to buy it from netsol. ICANN needs to step in here imo.
New idea. lol Go and search domains but use TM's maybe netsol will reg a bunch of names with a TM. Then watch netsol get sued lol

You'll need a lawyer to give you an answer to that question.
I guess people are ignoring some of the changes NetSol has done since then,
coupled with their CEO Chump...err, Champ's statement:
Mitchell added that if ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), the organization that oversees the domain name system, would move to cut down on these type of scams, then his company wouldn't have to engage in this kind of automatic search registration. "We would be perfectly happy to end this process if ICANN or the registries would do something to protect small businesses or other small users," he said.
Vidi, Vici, Veni!
They said THEY would reserve any domain researched, then the researcher would be the ONLY one who could buy it with-in the 4-day period. Aftert hat, all bets were off. Made sense to me.
I've researched a few at GD over the years and hemmed and hawed for a few days, and they were always still there, thank goodness.
If I can find the correct thread, I'll C&P it.
This is shameful:

Here it is:
"Jonathon Nevett, Vice President of Policy at Network Solutions, has offered the following in response to the news break:
“I’d like to clarify what we are doing. In response to customer concerns about Domain Name Front Running (domains being registered by someone else just after they have conducted a domain name search), we have implemented a security measure to protect our customers. The measure will kick in when a customer searches for an available domain name at our website, but decides not to purchase the name immediately after conducting the search.
After the search ends, we will put the domain name on reserve. During this reservation period, the name is not active and we do not monetize the traffic on these domains. If a customer searches for the domain again during the next 4 days at networksolutions.com, the domain will be available to register. If the domain name is not purchased within 4 days, it will be released back to the registry and will be generally available for registration."

Not defending them, because I'd be mad too. Just wanted to point out what they said.

Another fine registration exclusively available at netsol
we-are-proud-domain-squatters.com
The interesting bit: I check for we-are-proud-domain-squatters without specifying extension, they just grab the .com (obviously the extension that is most prone to get traffic).
So it's customer protection then![]()
NameNewsletter.com - free lists of available domain names
ZoneFiles.net (beta) - ccTLD and gTLD droplists
We know that netsol is doing this. I think that a lot of domainers are aware of it. Lets stop fueling the fire... No more domain look up's at Netsol... Even "funny" ones.
When they stop doing business, they will soon realize that they made a big mistake the second they thought about trying to minipulate the system.
This is honestly going to become a problem... Do your part and keep netsol off your browser.
what they do is not illegal - just BAD biz practice
is netsol paying the 0.20 ICANN fee at the end of the 4 days period ?
if yes then please someone make a script to query some million times from different ip's the netsol website for nonexisted domains e.g wsfsdf3453535344.com etc - will end up registering few millions names...do math
For Sale: small CFNM portfolio (~12 names) inc cfnm.info
silvana.com --> offers
just try register somewhere else after 96 hours
On Buying Spree| Generics and Typos| Mostly .COM | High Multiple paid | Pm me the names |
The actions of Network Solutions makes no sense whatsoever. I used to do all my WHOIS research at Network Solutions, and then register selected domains at my preferred registrar. I liked the "look and feel" and speed of NetSol's WHOIS system. NetSol should not have been too upset, as they were getting the lions share (about $6 USD) of the registration of each and every .com and .net domain that I bought from another registrar. I was also keeping up-to-date on other products and services offered by Network Solutions in ads they placed next to the WHOIS data. I was seriously considering sigining up as one of their VPS customers!
I don't think it's smart business to alienate your customer base.

Registering names along the lines of ComeGetMeGoogle.com, and akjsdhajshdasjkhdlakjsdh.com will do absolutely nothing for this issue. If netsol see's a significant decrease in business because of this bad business decision... They will realize what they did was a mistake. No more domain look up's at Netsol... Even "funny" ones.
