Just so you, faithful Oscarwatchers, won't be the last to know - yes, we've gotten our walking papers, a cease and desist from using the word 'Oscar' in our domain name. The term "Oscar Watch" is used by many magazines, like The Hollywood Reporter, and is used in subdomains, like on Oscars.yahoo.com, or Oscar.go.com, yet they don't want anyone making any money off their name. Many websites, books, newspapers both in print and online use the word "Oscar" with great frequency. That would lead me to believe that if I change the domain name I can still call my site "Oscarwatch" and the forums can still be Oscarwatch Forums. I will keep you all posted as to the latest hurdle.
