Not sure how much value the site adds to the domain as no Revenue stats are posted, but the 1/20th of the .com value rate is well passed already...

Normally the value would be assumed to be 10%-15% of the .com, not 5% bro...fyi

A little bit further and we'll have an all-time leader for .net domains. When did Pizza become more popular than sex?

HI

May be it could be the buyer of the .com going for the .net as well so by getting the .net he is protecting future traffic going to the new site.. Just wondering..

And at 10% value of the .com the .net should get around $260K but this is now closer to 20% wow...

Good news if this is true and not a fake sale..

Thanks

its generally a 10% figure some mention but at the top end on special domains they dont even get that it seems. so imo 15% never happens and where does the 10% happen?

top net sales:

realestate.net 300k approx
the com is worth a lot more than 3 million as is one of the top domains out there imo

sex.net sold for 450k approx, about 3% of the com

so i personally dont even see the 10% rule. lower generic one worders struggle to get xxx range on here

I'll just wait till the new owner forgets to renew pizza.com and then catch it on the drop

Seriously though, if the seller is indeed looking to get something in the neighborhood of $800k, I want some of that he's been smoking too...

Nice name nonetheless... obviously.

maybe he's thinking the .com could have hit 5m so i'll try 500k ..

I don't think the bidders could be adding much for the database surely the addresses can be bought for $100 ?

I think 125-250k was right for this - going too far now.

800k is not going to happen (at this particular time), IMO.

LOL. Why to pay high xxx,xxx for .net when you still can bid in low xx,xxx range for pizza.info @ Sedo, and I do not believe that .info will go higher then 100k.

Looks like for majority of Americans it does

if the last-minute bids roll in, this name could break the sex.net price for sure. since tube sites are killing adult revenues, pizza.net would likely outperform sex.net too.

if a sale like this can breathe some life into the .net aftermarket, then it would be a good thing. .net's have been almost as tough to sell as .biz for us.

What's the evidence tube sites are killing adult revenue? The standard porn site has been dieing for years - torrents, peer-to-peer, 'free paysite', passwords, etc. Where the industry is at it 'niche' sites and these tube sites will find it hard to kill them.

I wonder if some of the bids are fake, perhaps to drive a buzz about the name, or perhaps by people who know the reserve and want to increase valuation of such domains.

I'm sure there are fake bids involved. 800k .net in tdnam just seems too absurd!

Maybe. There are few domainers I know who went beyond 100-150k but gave up after the price went so high...

redtube, megarotic, youporn et al. all in the top 100. it's off topic though, so let's call it my opinion that tubes are killing adult.
