RegistryPro and ICANN remove restrictions for .pro

I've never heard the slang Acroplex refers to.

It sounds like they are making de juro part of what is already de facto. Anyone can register a .pro for $100 a year - you just don't control the full whois on the domain and you can't set nameservers (although you can set A records).

Only way .pro will work ultimately (sadly I must say from the point of view of domain purpose) is if it is opened up to general market - in which case it won't just be used by professionals.

You can do same if it is DOT COM or DOT PRO.

I'm reading through the proposal but I'm unclear on how this affects current dotpro owners. If you currently have a 2nd level dotpro domain where do the proposed changes leave you?
