...The expenses related to running the two auctions (including the auctioneer) would easily be covered by that one big commission from LongIsland.com....(plus, of course, don't forget the commissions he made on several high sales at the Live Auction, too - eg $214,000 for LoanCalculator.com).
I'd be surprised if, overall, Rick didn't at least break even on the overall event (probably, actually made good money) - despite the online fiasco of the Live Auction, and, the disappointing results from the Extended Auction.
In the glory days of 2007 - when TRAFFIC auctions were selling a bundle - the organisers would have made a motza (Aussie word for 'huge amount'...).

Moniker/Snap did well on their "live" auctions- the extended was a bit of a dud, mostly lowish $xxx to $xxxx sales with a bucketload of ridiculously high reserves stifling potential bidders.
