edit: this part below is new:
This is starting to be ridicolous:
4 hours ago , another sedo rep. wrote me back replying to my complaints regarding this issue, this is what she wrote me:
Dear Lorenzo,
Thank you for your email.
I’m afraid it is not possible to change the end date of your auctions. Due to the unavailability of the system the auctions were put back by the same time the system was unavailable – 526 minutes. This was system wide amendment and was done to ensure that you, and the other sellers, do not lose out on any bidding time. It is not to your disadvantage but rather to your advantage as we are not penalising you but allowing more bids to be placed and therefore the possibility that your domains will be sold for a higher amount. The sedo marketplace is an international marketplace and we know from previous experience that bidders are looking at auctions at all times of the day and night regardless of where they are based. In addition, we cannot remove the auctions as you have made a commitment, as per the Terms and Conditions, to sell the domains to the highest bidder.
As I write there is over three days remaining for each of these auctions allowing plenty of time for further bids to be received on your domain names. I hope that you continue to receive offers on your domains and receive a good price for each one.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Now....I just checked again the auction ending times.....you won`t believe it so better you go and check by yourself but they changed again , this time ending earlier , almost going back to the original ending time.
If this is not a mess , I can`t figure out how better to describe the meaning of this word.
I am now going to take screenshots of my auctions because I have no idea how this is going to end.
I advice other sellers to do the same and keep monitoring their Sedo auctions.

not totally, they are still 2 hours later than the original ending times.
Plus....moving auction ending times continuosly will create just such a confusion that no seller would ever want, not all buyers/bidders can check sedo every day. Some may just take note of ending time and think to come online 1 hour earlier that day just to find the auction is not there anymore!
Plus it may good for you but if that was done to me they would end on Saturday and I did not want that.
This is not acceptable, maybe we should start OUR marketplace......it can`t be worse than Sedo`s one.

Definitely not acceptable - sedo have a range of problems, from poor customer service, to not chasing down non-paying bidders (to messing around with auctions).
I'm only a small time domainer, although I know that they've missed out on $xxx from me (from things like featured categories, etc). I hope that other domainers will look at not using sedo either, it's bad that they can act like this.
Is this system for real? I've stayed up late sometimes bidding on a domain, do auctions really get extended towards their end?
No they don't usually. But if sedo.com is down for whatever reason, then all active auctions are usually extended the same amount of time that sedo.com was unavailable.
I agree that Sedo may piss you off a lot of times, but in the end, I think it's the best place to auction a domain, as it does normally attract a lot of bidders.
If Sedo ever gets a promising competitor, I wouldn't hesitate giving it a shot though.![]()
don`t get excited till the saga is over, these are the last news from another sedo rep and it seems that the issue is escalating, now they are talking of "rescheduling" some auctions...just get a coffee here and maybe some valium since I feel it`s not over yet, this is the last update before I go to bed:
Hi Lorenzo,
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused. We’ve actually received an update on this situation from sedo’s management; as it turns out, the lengthy auction extensions were unintentional. It looks as though some auctions may be rescheduled, although we don’t have all of the details yet or an official statement regarding the matter. However, you can rest assured that we will be sending out emails to all people involved in the affected auctions, and working to rectify this situation. You will be notified directly if your auction will be rescheduled.
Again, we apologize but appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!

sedo has problems with auctions? That's news to me... wow.
I wonder what what of happened if you didn't write them, I mean did everyone write them? People that don't write and like you said don't watch it every minute might just sell their property for less? On top of that your paying them to sell it. Hmmm?

sedo is so sketchy. They accepted one of my NNN.com names into GreatDomains at a certain reserve, and I even got an email confirming the reserve price. I look at their site, and it is up but at no reserve. I call them and tell them they need to fix it immediately, and a broker contacts me saying they can't honor the reserve they had already approved and confirmed via email, and that I need to put it in at 1/3 of the original reserve.
I hate sedo with a passion, every single thing they do is shady as hell. I'm seriously considering developing a new auction system but need to pull in a few more investors.
