lucky sale!
Great end user deal...lucky sale... HUH? I must be missing something.
Whats so great about servcorp.com? Much less why would anyone pay anywhere near that amount for it? Might be able to justify the sale if it was serving.com, service.com, etc. Some solid dictionary word but it isn't.
Just curious why everyone likes this domain.
Its not the domain that everyone likes, its the deal...
...Its a case of taking a low value domain - and, turning it into a high-value sale.
'ServeCorp', as a name by itself, is probably not worth a lot...
But, the seller found a large Australian company that happens to trade under the name 'ServCorp' - and, persuaded them to pay $75,000 for the domain of their corporate name.
Good piece of domainer business...

ServCorp.com.au appears to be a site which might explain the price.
He/she took a risk and it paid off. 99.9% of the time giving someone that kind of a price for a _blank_corp.com domain name would be instantly rejected. Its impossible to know when it will pay off and when it would result in the loss of a sale. Ah, the mysteries of domaining.

I don't think so, tassos...
WHOIS says that the Australian company, Servcorp, is the owner of the domain, Servcorp.com, here:
Domain name: SERVCORP.COM
Administrative Contact:
Administrator, Domain domainmanager@servcorp.com.au
Level 12, MLC Centre
19-29 Martin Place
Sydney, NSW 2000
AU
+61.292317441 Fax: +61.292317653
...and that's the correct address, 'cos I know the company....So, they own the domain.
Their primary website is:
http://www.servcorp.com.au/
...which is a business specialising in office management & leasing etc, including 'virtual' offices. They're a major player in their field.
Yet,
http://servcorp.com/
...takes you to a company specialising in 'Demonstration' services....apparently unrelated to the Australian organisation...
All I can think is that the Aussie Servcorp have bought the domain, but haven't yet pointed the NS to their .com.au site...or, haven't mirrored it with their new Servcorp.com domain....or, haven't built a new site for it yet, and the NS still point to the old owner...?

is there a white paper somewhere on the current OZ domain market?
Good sale - and even better finding a ccTLD holder of what would be (in the eyes of less savvy .com domainers) a seemingly ordinary $xxx / $xxxx name.
