A number of Total Registrations account holders have recently been sent some misleading information by another domain registrar. The domain registrar has been sending renewal notices for domains that were registered and administered through Total Registrations. This illegal approach is made in the hope that the registrant will unknowingly transfer domains to them. Unfortunately all domain registrant details (regardless of where or with whom the domain was registered) are held in the registries 'whois' databases which means that contact information is readily available to unscrupulous businesses. These businesses can send renewal notices to any domain registrant via email or through the post.

Please be aware that you should only receive renewal notices and other communications relating to a domain, from the official registrar of that domain. If you receive any post or emails from other companies about domains registered through Total Registrations, you should contact us at info@totalregistrations.com and provide details of the approach. You should also be aware that not only are these bogus renewal notices illegal, registrants are also likely to be asked to pay a much higher domain registration fee by the offending company and may even risk losing their domain name.

One of the false letters is being sent out by aplus.net / names4ever. One year in advance of the expiration date as well.
