I'm not knocking IDNs (I actually think they are prime to take off), but I don't think GoDaddy selling them is that much of an endorsement as it is another way to make more money.
Maybe, but to have much impact on Godaddy's figures, he must be counting on selling quite a few.
Anyway, he is not the only one, in the last few weeks the dot mobi and dot asia registeries have taken the plunge as well and are committing to selling IDN. Then there is Rick Latona, adding them to his select shopping list of ASCII dot coms and dot nets. He still doesn't want to know about dot Mobi or Info!

seriously, let's not confuse the issue...if there is a perceived gold rush going on and I am a wholesaler or retailer of gold mining tools, I'd be an idiot not to sell them and it would not require that even a majority of the public be believers, to manage my risk I would only need to breakeven via my margins.
GoDaddy is the biggest registrar, so if they start marketing IDNs to their huge customer base, it can only be good for IDNs. I was glad when they introduced them, because before I had to buy my IDNs elsewhere.
