I traded my worn copy of newsweek for a wired magazine on todays evening flight to Hanoi, and discovered that Marchex had earned an honorable mention:

"Sportals, as they are known, are Web pages consisting almost entirely of pay-per-click links, all of which shunt netsurfers to legitimate commercial Web sites, collecting money along the way for the spammers. Examples of these doorway pages include debts.com, lasvegasvacations.com, and 90210.com, all owned by industry pioneer Marchex of Seattle; another is photography.com, run by NameMedia, based in the Boston suburb of Waltham."

"Sportal" - what a jolly good name, chaps!

For my part, I shall certainly do my utmost to be a good sport.

So now we're labled as spammers. I guess when I go downtown this week I'm going to call the attendant at the parking lot that charges $7 buck a spam supporter. How dare they charge me to put my car on their property.
