If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!In a surprise move, to me at least, the World Wrestling Federation has wimped out and thrown in the towel by relinquishing its WWF.COM domainname and United States trademark rights to the World Wildlife Fund, a registered non-profit organization, already located at WWF.ORG.
Here is some food for thought while reading the story linked to below.
How come a registered non-profit organization can sucessfully state a claim to a .com domain owned by a commercial company with registered marks in the United States, when the .org gtld is specifically designated for non-profits worldwide???
Shouldn't the non-profit just have the rights to the .org?
What type of precedence does this set, a .org non-profit winning a domain from a commercial .com entity?
Read this shocking domain news story yourself, then tell us what you think!

True, its all fake....if you want real wrestling visit a college or high school wrestling match. Thats where the real sport is, and there people have respect for wrestling.

It was probably a back room deal, who knows.
As I recall the WWFund *allowed* WWFederation to use the WWF initials in the beginning but there were strict terms in their agreement. WWFederation broke those terms and so WWFund called in the agreement.

WWFederation have changed their name BECAUSE WWFund was going to sue them to hell and back.
I also think it was a back room deal...
Old post yes.

WWF changed to WWE due to loosing the WWF.com and the ensuing legal issues stemming from the use of WWF.
If I recall, this whle thing went down a fair amount of time ago... did the case resurface again?

Makes me happy that I registered wwe.info on the opening day.
The wwf.com domain name used to be registered with Register.com and its now been moved to Dotster. Still has loads of traffic behind it.
