Don't bother, I spoke to the administrators and it's definitely not for sale........ plus I've already put in an offer.![]()
So the company is only shutting down its UK operations?
See my domains, grouped by category, at BetterDomains.net - reseller offers welcome!
Follow me at Facebook or Twitter - I'm "BetterDomains" at both places.
I've offered them 200k a month ago![]()
Its not the only LL in this situation....![]()
I have had communication with someone from the Corporate Advisory & Restructuring and regarding the name they said "Josh - the name has already been sold with the French business."
End of story everyone.... move on.

That doesn't sound right given the administration process in the UK. The assets are to be sold to the highest bidder in order to gain the best value for the creditors. As the company only went into administration yesterday, if the have 'sold' assets already there would be an outcry from the creditors. The only exception is if the buyers guaranteed the old companies debts, and that's never going to happen.
DNGazette.com - for sale
XL.com whois is in the name of Excel Airways Limited, Explorer House, Fleming Way, UK. Excel Airways Limited is a ' Dormant' UK company (number 6013246, companieshouse.gov.uk). No accounts filed, not trading and that company is not listed with the group of companies at XL.com. I emailed Companies House in the UK and they said I could have the domain for nothing. "yes we will definitely give you the domain name" - Game over.![]()
HI
I wonder if and when it go up for sale and for how much... very interesting.

They will probably TRY to siphon it off for £0 to the French and German company, but I will ensure they dont as far as I can. I wrote to them today to express my interest, before I can across this thread. By the looks of the thread I have no chance though.

Already sold to a mysterious person; the email started with "Hey bro, wanna sell xl.com and what is your bin? I can do escrow, seller pays fees".
I just sent them this one:
Hi.
We are interested in the domain name in the subject.
2,000,000 USD. Ok.
Do you sell the name only without web site? I'm interested in the name so web site is not so important.
Do you have an appraisal certificate for your domain name?
Domain name is an investment for me. In other words I'm going to sell your name later and make a profit. If I overpay I won't be able to make a profit in the future. It's very important for you and me to know the current market value of your domain.
Of course, we must be sure that you are engaging a reputable appraisal company. I heard many appraisal companies often made inaccurate appraisals. I will only accept appraisals from independent sources I trust. To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies in a forum http://**********.ourplace.com/Archive/296814.htm
Just check this posting.
If the appraisal comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly. I also hope you can give me 10% - 15% discount of the appraised value.
After I get an appraisal from you we'll continue our negotiations.
How do you prefer to get paid: www.escrow.com, www.PayPal.com check or wire?
Hope we can come to an agreement fast.
Looking forward to your reply.![]()
Iron Maiden to the rescue
Hundreds of British holidaymakers were stranded on Corfu, Kos and other islands yesterday as authorities struggled to arrange their return following Friday’s collapse of the XL tour operator.
British and Greek authorities clashed over who was to blame for tourists sleeping in island airports in rising temperatures. Britain’s Consulate on Corfu said it had been told by Greek authorities that there were no passengers in need of help, but airport staff said they had told the UK Consulate about the tourists stuck there.
British authorities said repatriation flights – from Greece, Egypt and other destinations – were due today.
On Saturday, tourists stranded in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, got an unexpected helping hand: The singer of the rock group Iron Maiden, chartered a jet to fly them home. A qualified pilot, Bruce Dickinson has rescued stranded tourists in the past.
