The buyer is a member here, in due time the information on the deal will be released. The 7 figure deal was more than 1 IDN, but both sales have been verified by more than one trusted source involved in the transactions.
To quote buyer at "unnamed"Forum:
"I am sorry i can't currently reveal additional info on that particular deal and on others that also happened recently with idns. The only thing i can currently repeat is that there was this 1 domain sale of $xxx, xxx and another deal of $x,xxx, xxx. Surely I will update the board once possible. For the record it is a Russian idn domain."
Well it's a good name, but there is no traffic, alexa 0; it's 2.5 years old
I wish it was true

Congrats to the buyer and seller!
Most IDNs still don't get much traffic since browser support for IDNs has just got built into browsers with release of IE-7. While IE7 has been around for approaching 2 years in many countries, the rollout for IE7 in Asia just started in earnest earlier this year.
Coming up later this year, or early 2009 is the rollout of IDN.IDN, which should coincide with browser support hitting critical mass. Since all the publicity about idn.idn in the Russian press, Russian IDN.com, .net, etc. have been getting steady traffic and clicks. Those willing to invest and hold and wait should do very well in the long run.

A simple hoax

I believe it when I see it in Dnjournal, a trusted news source for the domain industry.
Bill I doubt it happened...... Michael's "deals" are cheap. My expensive IDNs have gotten such small offers from him and yes I let a few go unfortunately... I've always found him on the cheap side of things...
I have to agree with Bill, Michael is a straight up individual.
I have had several dealings with him, and find him to be one of the most professional, and ethical domainers around.
I have received very good offers from him, in the past...but you can't blame anyone for making an offer lower than you would like.( It is Business)
You always have the option to decline any offers.
If Michael, makes a statement...you can take it to the bank.
We'll be reading more about this deal, in the coming weeks, I'm sure.

I will look forward to the possibility of this becoming public, so the transaction/s can be looked at in more detail.
I do hope this isn't going to be another idn.com 'pump and run', to try and 'advance' the aftersale market..
John Berryhill' IOLA account was used in this transaction.
Wouldn't he be a good source?

Have there been any further updates on this sale, or has it all gone quiet?
Yes, I like to know whether it was closed properly.

A month later, and still no more details. It is hard to believe that this is a true sale.
