    AARRRGGGHHHH - &#$%@&$ Microsoft

    I have a custom designed web site template that I split up into a series of include files in MS Front Page. The site looks awesome in MSIE and AOL, but there are extra spaces around a flash banner in Netscape and Firefox. The flash banner is an include file.

    Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this? It's worth all of my $DNF if you can help me fix this

    The site displays fine in Opera.

    Your Object (the flash) doesn't need to be contained in a paragraph. This may be causing the issue. Simply remove the <p> and </p> and that may fix the issue.

    Also in your object, you have some strange characters which were probably put there by frontpage. Remove those and that could fix the issue as well.

    Your best bet is to do the final edit with notepad, simply get rid of all the spaces in the object and remove the paragraph. That should fix ya right up.

    No problem at all, frontpage sometimes does silly things and injects tags where they don't belong. Glad all is working now.

    AAARRGGHH! It's happening to me again!

    This time, the flash banner won't even show up in Firefox or Netscape, but it looks great in MSIE and AOL

    Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this?

    Re: AARRRGGGHHHH - &#$%@&$ Microsoft

    Code:
    <param name="movie" value="images/header.swf">
              <param name="quality" value="high">
              <embed src="includes/images/header.swf"
    there's your problem
    the movie is either in the folder images, either in includes/images/

    delete the "includes/" part and you are done.

    Re: AARRRGGGHHHH - &#$%@&$ Microsoft

    it was the damnest thing...

    FP and regular FTP said the banner was at <embed src="images/header.swf", but viewing the page source in any browser said the banner was at <embed src="includes/images/header.swf"

    After spending an hour chasing ghosts, I just created an images subdirectory in the includes folder, and copied the banner to it. Problem fixed (but not really solved)

    Thanks for the help guys!
