which password admin system? what is dynamo?

A web developer proudly mentioned using "dynamo" as an admin pw management system for a website we were discussing putting together.

It's features seem fine for what I need; basic pw management, directing users to private web pages.

But now I'm posting the project for bidding and I'm not sure if I should request a specific admin system. If there are technical differences, what are the important ones?

Is the defining difference the programming language that's used? Or is that a name the developer created for kicks and giggles?

Re: which password admin system? what is dynamo?

I'm a professional web developer, and i've never even heard of dynamo. It also doesn't seem to show up through a variety of google searches.

Are you talking about managing users and providing role based access to pages or directories of a website? For instance, people who are only assigned the role 'user' cannot access a page that requires the role 'manager'.

Each language or framework has its own way of dealing with authentication and roles. Rather than requesting a specific system, I would just make sure whatever system you end up with supports your needs.

If that isn't helpful, please provide some more information.

Re: which password admin system? what is dynamo?

I'd like a public area and several private areas, with individual passwords directed to different webpages that are each private.

I tried googling dynamo and found nothing useful, which made me more curious as to what the heck she was talking about.

    Thanks for the response Hyped.

Re: which password admin system? what is dynamo?

I am also interested in finding a way to set up a system where someone types in their username & password, then is directed to their exclusive page.

Cpanel's password utility doesn't quite cut it.

    I'd love some suggestions!
