![]() It's not a script. I hand built that myself, as I did with http://www.lowell.com/yellowpages I bought all the data from Ahmed at iBegin, had my developer/designer build a sample page that had the information I wanted in a nice looking format he designed, and I created all of the individual pages on my own by hand over the course of a few days for each website (http://www.burbank.com/yellowpages/non-profits.php). Tedious work, but there were a bunch of small details I needed to have done correctly (Adding a "." after St and Rd but not Way for example), so I took the time and built it all by hand. I've heard PMD and eDirectory are also good, but I wanted the main YP section and the individual YP pages to look and function exactly as they do, which is why I spent the time doing it myself. It's good to work for myself where nobody can tell me I am wasting my own time ![]()

Country: | Hey Elliott! Great looking site man! You sat there and added each and every listing to your yellow pages???.....or is this the data you purchased and then just tweaked the look of the pages?....Is the data sold by zip code?..or by city/town?....and how about the functionality of "Claim this..."...was that built into script?......the thing is..ive seen this exact directory "look" somewhere else before...... I bought the data for each city and Ahmed sent me the data in a format where I could easily add my coding around (Excel via line insertions). I then reviewed all of the categories and combined many of them since there were lots of tiny categories (legal services and attorneys for example). I then cut and pasted from Excel, created hundreds of individual pages, and added meta information - all using Dreamweaver. The "claim this" and "add-remove" pages are just forms my designer created for me asking for the information I would need for the directory. It's also a simple sales tool. I have to add listings manually though, which is where most people would cringe. I like having complete control. The one negative aspect of this project is that there isn't a search function on the home page of the Yellow Pages. That might be a project for the next phase. For now, I will begin seeking out advertisers with my Marketing Manager next week. That will be challenging.

Country: | Thanks Elliot! I just sent Ahmed an email. I am in process of developing a GEO of a local town in Long Island and am having an issue as to how to go about the directory functionality of my site. I also like total control and have no issues with the work/hours involved. I'd rather do it right the first time!..lol...What would you put the "cost estimate" at for what you had done regarding the directory/yellow pages? Tony |

DNF$: 6,457 Location: DnMagnate.com | Looks good Elliot. Will be interesting to know what kind of revenue they bring, if you're willing to disclose of course. btw, add titles to the hotel pages http://hotels.burbank.com/hotel/10021808-10209792O.html |
