They want to charge clients for access to videos... and some may be free...

For Joomla Based site - Virtuemart shopping cart has some plugin for membership thing.
For Wordpress site - There is plugin called Memberwing
For non CMS site - http://www.amember.com/

If you are looking to set up a membership type site where they are producing their own content to build a site, there are several cms type script options. Here are a few:

If they are looking to develop a tube site, there are also several options. Here is one I have done some recent work with. Seems pretty good and has alot of good features.

If they have not done so already, your client would greatly benefit from consulting an attorney to figure out the legalities of such a site. In particular the newly updated 2257 regulations.

We are currently working on a small script that sells videos by the each.

for the backend, we are using http://www.phantomflicks.com/ and will either use http://www.ccbill.com or http://www.zombaio.com for billing.
Zombaio is the new kid on the block, and as such only charges 4.9% for processing, VS. CCbills' nearly 15%
I'm not aware of any script that will allow both methods as members areas are usually heavily protected. Be aware that you must own the content, and have all 2257 documentation.

Fuzzybean.... Sitedepth sucks bad! I can't say how much. Suffice it to say that the $500 anybody spends might as well be used as toilet paper.

Toomuchmedia and Mansions' scripts are very good, yet pricey for someone just jumping into this industry.


Opening an adult site that charges for access is not an easy, (or cheap) task.
