I'm using DataFeedFile.com right now, but they have frequent DNS or other server problems. Right now they've been down for 2 days, reminds me of the days when they just started. Don't feel confident when their site is down all the time, then affiliate feeds do not work.
Looked at DataFeedScripts.net, but it is a bit pricey at $250 for first install and $150 each additional.
Thanks,
Sean.
Hi Sean,
I am currently developing a .net version as part of a bigger project. It is similar to the datafeedscripts.net version but hopefully will ultimately be alot better. It is also based on the shopping.com api.
I may release the shopping.com api script only and some templates cheaper than datafeedscripts do in the near future.
The api script is about 50% complete, if my missus allows me to spend some time to finish it then I will need someone to test it and give me feedback if i decide to go down the datafeedscripts route. I will keep your details if your interested in beta testing? obviously you can keep the script for your own shopping.com affiliate website after for the trouble.
The script should be ready before xmas.
Kind Regards
Craig
Hi Craig,
I'd be interested in doing some testing.
Also interested in a feature that allows to have a site based on a single category or niche based. I use datafeedfile.com's feeds on a few of my sites, but they host on their own servers. Checkem out, might give you some ideas. Because of this they don't have a solid stability because of their own inhouse Hosting. Its' a free (fourth click) type of affiliate script, it's nice because of it's flexibility, but I want an alternative to something better.
Let me know, I am always around.
Sean.
Yea, i'm aware of datafeedfile. I thought they sorted those problems when they moved their servers, not sure they are that interested in the script anymore as their business model appeared to rely on Sponsored Merchants rather than the 4th click.
Anyways, the guts of the script is contained within a DLL file. You will be able to easly fit this in with any template or layout you like. The dll does all the work with the shopping.com api. Catering for a certain niche such as Digital Cam's would be easy too. I hope to include lots of examples in plain ASP so you can just copy and paste these within your own templates.
I will let you know when i get near to completing it, obviously I would like you to rave about the script if I ever finish it
Regards
Craig
P.S. All revenue from the script is 100% yours and shopping.com's. There will be no clicks going to my account like datafeedscripts used to do before they started selling theirs.
I am also interested in shopping.com script
