Download Counter

anyone know of a good counter that keeps live stats on the site of the numebr of times a file is downloaded?

i need something with very good step by step directions how to install it.


i have never installed a script and dont have the slightest clue where to begin

.. tho this is a little more advanced as it manages users also...
there's a ton of scaled down scripts also out there. Try hotscripts.com if you think this is too advanced for your project. I use a highly modded version on a site of mine and its great.

The script is called Countdown. There are two open source versions and one commercial version. I have used this in the past and it does the job quite well.
