What makes a good drop catch script? Put it another way, what seperates those who catch the domains from those who don't?

I would also add thes question.....what is the difference between being your own registrar and having an api to a registrar? Is it simply that you are sharing this connection with others?
If you have an API, is there a limitation the the number of lookups you can send? Do these scripts both send request to an api and the public whois through different IPs, and if/when the public whois says a name is available then they send a request to reg. through the api?
Well I can make custom script if any one want, Will get list from Pool.com using cron and manipulate data from that list.
There are three kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can't.
A script CAN NOT beat a registrar. Unless, you are only going for a mediocre or less than mediocre domain. And, the registrars were going for thousands.
During the days of full blown tasting, it was difficult for a script to beat the tasters.
Now, that tasting activities have been "reduced" (not elliminated) you might have a chance.
With the script(s), there is a limit of inquiries per minute built-in.
Otherwise, the registrar will ban your API/ip # .
Whereas, a registrar connection is pounding away with a number of request per second.
Who is going to get the domain -
a registrar searching a number times per second.
Or, a script that is searching a number times per minute.
Also, remember that most of the scripts use Enom or Moniker as the registrar.
And, I believe they "might ? " be tasting themselves.
Because of the low cost of Daniel's script, it is worth the effort.
Just don't expect to catch a premium domain.
