Need Recommendation for a Directory Script

I am looking for a directory script for a directory of lawyers. I will use it for other things too.

Which directory script has the best SEO performance? I have heard that for blog software, wordpress has the best SEO performance. So I want to know what directory software does the best for SEO, all else being equal?

Example sites will help; so we can see page rank. Please post in the thread.

stock_post named the top two out there imo.

I lean towards the phpLD, that's the one I've most researched and the extra mods from a 3rd party (extra 20 bucks lifetime membership) makes it a very fexible and robust deal for a total of a 100 bucks unbranded with all the mods.

indexscript.com/ is a plain generic directory. free or 30 bucks unbranded.

Any way you choose, I would suggest looking into a category mysql_dump to get the grunt work out of the way. Simple SE search will pull up plenty to add/test.

So, is there any free alternative to phpmydirectory or phpLD?
Also, which between the two above do you think is better for SEO and for updating?

phpLD has their old 2.xx version free, but you must keep the backlink and there is no support, but it does meet the FREE requirement.

I have not seen a FREE phpmydirectory script or clone.

The deeper answers you seek about both directories would be better sought on their respective forums. That's all they discuss on their sites....their product's strengths and weaknesses.

Only draw back is a backlink to their site which would cost$50 more to have removed.
As far as features over phpLD ,it has many including templates.

Uh wtf? PHPLD is the same as phplinkdirectory.com
Correct me if I'm wrong but I used phpld since 2006 and the site to download or buy it is phplinkdirectory.com

Espically after the google update and now the recession directories are even worst than before.
If your running a directory don't expect you will be making money anytime soon.
For phplinkbid.com I never used it but I don't know any sites that used it and its actually big.
I would go for phplinkdirectory.com
