I am looking for all kinds of Linux/php/perl scripts to faciliate the usage of proxies in my scripts.

Is there anything recommendable for the collection and verification of proxies? (Otherwise I could do this on my own quite quickly)

More interesting: As far as I know socks proxies can handle connections and protocols other than the standard html stuff. any implementation examples in perl/php?
