I'm not sure about the color scheme, pinkish/purple/green hmm... I always used to center links as well but I find it looks more pro when aligned to the left/margin.
yikes.. those colors are just wrong. You need to pick a font and be consistent, you need to tie down your right hand column so it doesn't float off from your bottom and top horizontal rows, and you need to pick a width for those outside columns so your title boxes don't look goofy. The bouncing banana and the scrolling information in the status bar are just not necessary and make a bad design even worse.
usually i like to say something positive even for a very bad site design, but quite honestly, I just can't find anything positive... so my advice is start from scratch. You may very well have some good information there, but no one will stay around long enough to find out.

go with Arial, Georgia or Verdana. Use your <h> tags with search engines in mind and wisely (in other words don't over use large letters except to emphasize what is really important). Your CSS says san serif / arial family, but you're definitely rendering a serif font, looks like times new roman. If you're using an editor it is over-riding your CSS for font choice.
colors are a matter of preference, but you're safe if you stick with colors that meet accessibility standards. White is your friend. A white background with black letters makes for easy readability. Color your columns, or use graphics for color, but the stuff you want people to read needs to be dark color on light color, preferrable black on white. If I were re-doing this site on the fly the first thing I'd do is get rid of that purple background, but since purple is in your logo mark I'd consider using a lighter version as the color for your vertical columns. I'd also dump all green. You've got a purply-pink and a yellow/gold in your navigation and logo mark, and those along with the purple make a good three color base to work from.
Good luck!

That explains the font change.... Front Page will over-ride your css .. it is one of those very few Front Page things that drives me nuts. You need to go into your format menu and make sure Front Page and your CSS font choices are the same.

ahhh... that's nice.. you didn't have to do that. I'm happy to help... I had a mentor when I first started out who drove me nuts when he critiqued my sites but I always went back to him when i had a new site because even if I didn't agree with his assessment I always learned something.
best of luck,
Vivvy
