i think it looks fair for a start. Though i am not a professional website designer my advice would be to reduce the font size--appears too big.
good luck

Regading the website. Since you are a starter it is ok.. i recommend you take a look at css. Try to learn css as it is the call of the day.

the logo is done pretty good. Rest of the layout requires lots of improvement. In web designers life it is practice that takes you places. So keep on practicing new layouts untill you reach there. I recommend you visit sites like template monster and boxed art to see what kind of templates you should be able to design etc.
just my 2 cents![]()

I would say keep the font size as is. There is lots of screen not covered otherwise. Big and easy to read helps get your message across.
Your header needs some work to get a professional feel. If you can't do graphic work, farm the work out - prices are reasonable. You only get one chance at a first impression.
I am a huge proponent of sitemaps. Always include them in every website - single static page aside of course. They have their place and reason even on small sites.
Definately more pics of your work. Maybe even four or five photos with details of the steps taken. Make the pictures big, clear as possible without creating excess kb.
Your coding leaves something to be desired though. If I have one piece of advice to give it's make nice clean code. Doing so will also improve your SEO at the same time. Simple things like ensuring "alts" are utilized on img tags. Placing tags in their proper positions.

That's what you need to correct. It can take time, but it is worth it.
You are off to a good start.

Hi Sven,
From a business point of view 2 things need changing.
First you should say 'Swindon and surrounding area' rather than 'surrounding villages'. Secondly, you should give your surname where you give contact details, it will be more professional in approach (remember the number of cowboys out there!).
Reduce the font size slightly, take it down a notch, it will be easier to read.
Finally don't panic, your website is appropriate, although as was suggested above you should keep trying to improve it, but do not do this bit by bit, design it and work on it as a whole but do not go 'live' until you have finished ut a whole page.
Good luck with the business.
