Can you guys do me a favor?

I hope I don't make this to confusing? I am setting up a search engine site, I am tooling between two different types.

I am trying to decide which one I am going to use, and hoping you guys can help me in my decision and pro and con analysis.

If you have the time can you please try out the same group of search phrases on each site and tell me which one you feel gives you the best results.

I would rather have functionality over looks and feel. It will be obvious that the one looks better then the other. The question is if you think it pulls good results.

site 1: www.Fetch411.com
site 2: www.Bogzz.com

i think i liked the results from site 1 better

i searched for
web Hosting
"web hosting"
credit cards
"credit cards"

I entered the following term in each search engine:

Milk

Fetch411 returned approx 500million results.
Bogzz returned approx 70 million results.

Fetch411 seems to have better search capabilities...

With respect to design, Fetch411 looks better and feels more credible. On the other hand, the design and feel of bogzz makes me uneasy...

Does it seem like bogzz weeds out all the bullshit? seems like it always come up with less searches?

have you tested any of your own personal domains to see where they show up? Do you have any sites that are first page of top tier search engines, but they dont show up here, or vice versa?

I like the plain look of bogzz better. Fetch411.com is just OK IMO. As far as the searches go its not quantity but quality you should be after. Where is bogzz pulling its info from? live.com?

Bogzz is cleaner, but I don't care as much for the results. I know Google is doing a lot of "long tail" stuff, so perhaps the test is unfair given the single word search term.

I used the search term "experience" (sans quotes). In the Google feed, the term caused it to spit out a huge number of sub domain sites from the folks at Experience.Com - while I'm sure that is valid (they are a legit and real business), it makes more sense to have a short term like "experience" simply bring up their core site. After all, "The username and/or password you entered is invalid. Please try again or create a new account... " for all the sub domain sites does not provide one entirely useful descriptions of the sub domain.

The results on fetch411 using the Live feed produced a better set of diverse page 1 sites.

(Of course, where it comes to the test example, arguably, I am a bit biased

)

It is actually in reverse, bogzz is more live a msn "Live"feed and Fetch411 is more like a google or yahoo feed, not sure which one it is using?
