I said - you can use your keyboard to control what line chart you are looking at once it's open. For example - click on the 'th' row in the right-hand grid. You'll see the chart for 'th' domains on the left. Then click the 'j' key on your keyboard. The chart will jump to the 'j' domains...and if you hold down the 'j' key, you'll see the chart rapidly jump thru the 'j' domain combinations... make sense? and if you want it to scroll in alphabetical order, just sort the grid by clicking the "begins with" column of the grid.

updates

- added a bunch of charts
- added the ability to search on domains that are dropping over the next 5 days... and with that search you can search on any length - I'm still tweaking the code but you can play around with it
- added a column to go to Snapnames to backorder the domain

Good morning -

Couple quick things:

1. You'll notice that when you select the "Dropping" checkbox, the search becomes a "contains" search instead of starts with. I'm working on making that a dropdown with the following values:
- starts with
- ends with
- contains

2. Searching for domains on a specific names server option should be ready soon....

3. Any other suggestions you may have for functionality - please PM me.

Update - you can now select "starts with", "ends with", or "contains" for domains that are dropping....

No problem Dale - I appreciate any assistance ...no rush.

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. My two biggest challenges right now are:

1. Allowing you to retrieve all of the domains associated with a specific name server... I have my arms around this one but you've got to realize that if you searched on something like "NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM" you're going to be sitting there watching the clock spinning for quite some time (around 1.3 million domains pointed to that one alone). But it will certainly be a useful tool for getting all of the domains that are associated with your own personal name servers...or other non-parking servers.

2. Allowing you to search on a substring for active domains (this already works for dropping domains because the dataset is far smaller). This one may end up being a back breaker since searching on a substring or REGEXP within 92 million records, no matter how many tables I split them up in to, is going to take a long time. What I might do is if you want to search on a substring or domains that ends in a specific string, make you type in the letter or number that the domain starts with... that will narrow down the list somewhat... but considering domains beginning with the letter S make up almost 10% of all domains, narrowing down on that letter doesn't really help all that much... I'd still be doing a substring search on a record set of over 7 million.

Check out the new pie chart that shows the breakdown of the 6.6 million parked domains..... Domain Sponsor and SEDO make up about 45% of that... I just picked the major parking name servers and grouped them... interesting stuff. I'm going to have 4 pie charts - Current, Last Month, Last 6 Months, Last Year... something like that... so that you can see the change over time.

Thanks again

Minor update - added the ability to search on MIN and MAX length of domain... it was previously just MAX length.

Dynamic links

Nice new update:

you'll notice the url changing as you filter down on your zfbot query... you can copy that url and save it as a bookmark or send it to someone in an email... and when you return to that url, the search is automatically processed. Nice feature for specific searches you want to save as bookmarks or links...

Here's an example: Domains that begin with "florida", are dropping within the next 5 days, .com extension, no dashes, no numbers and are max 12 characters in length:

http://www.zfbot.com/#/search=florid...2;ext=1;part=0

able to do this because I'm using something called urlkit within the flex application...it allows you to also use the back/forward buttons of the browser to step backwards and forwards on everything you have done within the filter and you won't lose the flash file.

Just wanted to post a note - and I'm not stating this because I built this application (although it makes me proud!)... I've found myself using the zfbot.com tool over other domain tools (ie domaintools.com, pool.com, etc) for researching dropping domains. You can't search for strings within a domain at domaintools... you can at pool but you can't do it in conjunction with all of the other filters that are on zfbot.

For example:

http://www.zfbot.com/#/search=mortga...3;ext=1;part=2

Shows you all .com domains dropping within the next 5 days with the word mortgage in it and doesn't contain a number or dash and is between 0 and 13 characters long.

or:

http://www.zfbot.com/#/search=swap;d...3;ext=1;part=2

Shows you all .com domains dropping within the next 5 days with the word swap in it and doesn't contain a number or dash and is between 0 and 13 characters long.

By the way - hot news: underwearswap.com is dropping... get it while you can!!!!!

I added a music player so that I could listen to some music while I did my domain research... Forgive me - I'm an avid musician as well and I used to play in all the major clubs in NYC for years... music is a serious passion of mine (have over 30 guitars). Peace!

Whoah. Now that's just "sick"!

I quickly wrote this song, called "Crunching Blues"

Quote:
A little more, a little extra power
CPU cycles - from my Intel tower
The numbers are screaming away
As the night turns back into day

Crunching blues!
Spitting fire, not a moment to lose
Crunching blues!
Someday, honey, I'll make the news

Never throttling, full 100 per cent
Burning rubber, steamy air off the vent
Only for a billion decimal places of pi
One more day, one more final try

Crunching blues!
Database reindexing, give it some juice
Crunching blues!
ZFbot all the way, til it blows a fuse!

Da - da, lee da, da, daaaa....

Now Theo - You've now proven that you've got too much time on your hands. Or that you can seriously multi-task.

I've also started adding meaningful statements to the status at the end of each days instead of just "Done for the day"...

I had a great, full day, then woke up from a nap to find ZFBot with extra features. I wrote this in 5 minutes, should I quit domaining yet?
