So-so. Maybe blend in the logo with the rest of the header? Evenly space the page links. The left & right columns are difficult to read with the colors to me.

thanks for the observation
i just put in the links to see how it would look for placement and do plan to "space" them out.
for comparision, see www.greenfriendly.com as it is now

Hmmm. Well, it's definitely an improvement. Although there is something to be said for simple. Shouldn't take much to make the header nice. But I would still darken the column fonts or lighten the background in them. Maybe you should do a "green" directory instead? Just a thought.

biggy u need my help on this. Green people know what green is, put those articles in for keywords and archive them or unpublish from the front page. you need to give your visiting peeps ACTION options. tiny text under a centralized ad graphic speaks nothing to the green space.
position a larger left upper logo and the main "message" wastes the larger header space. why margins for an ad and then push down the logo and "message"? you can put that text in the explorer header and use the banner for more pertinent content. Pick a key fun green thing to do and guide your vizzies there.
Since this site slams all its development finesse on ads and not on content its is unbalanced to absorb.
'header', link 3 4, 5m c'mon biggy anybody in the green space can name 3 links off the tops of their noggin. Sierra club, greenpeace, freecycle. simple. easy.
dayyyem kid put some more GREEn there eh?
You need to position message left rectangle, green green, logo, etc. you need to give your visiting peeps action in the middle rectangle click for more news, sign up for free green startup home biz, find recycling in your area for cash, etc.
then right rectngle can be ads. Your visitors are not Gale Sayers they can;t split and go both ways.

Has good potential Don.
I would make the nice logo larger and also center it on the light green bar. Also center the text Your Source for "Green Friendly" Products and Services" under the logo and make the green bar larger so it fits.
