How much is my site worth? - DNForum - Domain Sales, Domain Forum, Domain Appraisals, Domain Registrars

Note to mods: I know that there is a Domain Name Apprasial section, but I want to know what my entire site is worth, and not just the domain, so I hope I put it in the appropriate place. If not, please feel free to move it.

Okay - please note that I am NOT interested in selling my site, but for simple self-glorifications purposes, I'm interested in seeing how much you all appraise my site to be worth.

The site: http://www.pokerforums.org

- We are #1 on Google for "poker forums", and very high on related searches.
- We are only half a year old, but growing at an alarming rate; traffic is currently averaging 1500 uniques a day.
- For those that don't know, the gambling/poker industry online is perhaps the highest profiting sites in terms of ad revenue.
- I get approcated by an dozens of advertisers each month wanting to advertise.
- I've been offered in the low $xx,xxx for the site, which I quickly declined.
- Again, for those that don't know, poker is on a huge boom recently, due to the WSOP and poker taking over the TV.
- Our Alexa rating is currently at 40,000 and dropping steadily.
- The site's profits are increasing steadily as well, and currently stand close to $1,000 a month.

Could value it this way as well:

$1k per month x 12 = $12k per year

People are valuing and selling a 3 yr - 5yr - 10 yr rev..( obvious domain and traffic to be taken into account ) In this case based on your posts you have a good growing base and poker is not doing anything but get higher. Also...you can take into account the content and brand value in the case of a potential enduser buyer ( party poker, palace...ect. ).

Personally with the traffic you say you have I am surprised you not making at least double or more of what you are. Maybe more banners or links or codes throughout the site....whatever you think works best for your visitors....but there is definatly money being left on the table.

If I were you and you could show solid stats...If you did decide to sell it...I wouldn't let it go for any less than 3 - 5 yrs rev...and that would be a very fair price. With 1500 targeted uniques a day...whoever bought it could just shut the forum for a bit and point it to fabulous.com and make their money back in no time and start up the forum again.

Hi izoot,

I'm actually making the ad earnings by selling the sites myself on a monthly basis, and not doing any CPA/rakeback means, as I felt my method woudl be better. However I am starting to test the waters with rakeback and such now to see how they do.

One of the major things going for the site aside from it's large growth, is the community. People are surprisingly more than willing to try out new poker sites - and as you know, this is a dream come true for a poker webmaster.

My main work revolves around balancing quality of site with quantity of ads - I do not want to turn the site into another gambling whored site with ads everywhere.

Hi...I suppose it could... ( I was just offering an example, not that I would do that if I bought a site like this with a growing community ) But do you have any idea how much money 1500 unique targeted visitors a day could bring in with Fab's poker payout? Allot....

Thanks for all the appraisals - appreciate it. Just if anyone is curious - I received an offer for $35k for it the other day, but I quickly turned it down. After he said it will soon be worth $100,000 - the potential of this site is great...

Just thought I'd mention this if anyone was interested in hearing about the offer.

$12,000-$24,000 would be what the average person would be willing to give you for the site. However since you already got an offer for $35,000 you know it's worth atleast that. In the end the site is going to be worth what the highest bidder is willing to pay you for it. I wouldn't be suprised if down the road you got a better offer because you are continuely improving the site and with that comes a greater value. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do with it.
