Loving Crysis Warhead atm and then I will get HOMM5 because I used to be addicted to HOMM3 and apparently it has similar gameplay.
Yes and no. In terms of hardware? Yes. In terms of game development in the last decade, not really. Game play is what matters most but these days most games just look pretty but are the same old crap.
Nice site! Keep up the good work. It will take a lot of time but it can work! You might want to add the 70s to your list. That's when it all mostly started although the first game was developed in 1951 (I'm not kidding - See Pong-Story!). If you are a gaming or electronics history nerd, you really should visit that site!
I added a link for you at my website, VintageRadio.com. It is an old radio and vintage electronic classified, directory, and events website. You are under 'Vintage Digital >> Games' on the links directory page.

looks nice, only comment is that i think navigation bar height is too much, looks a little strange to me.
Hmm ... I see what you mean. At least the top navigation bar is a bit too big compared to the font used. I will try increasing the font or decreasing the height of the navbar. Thanks for the tip!
Edit: I cranked up the font size. If I were to make the menu narrower I'd have to edit the background also. Looks a lot better now I think.![]()

I just posted a new article,
The legend of Polybius
It's an interesting read for those who aren't familiar with this "urban legend".![]()
Stian, a bit of advice with the article layout: you can use same width Youtube video as the article, and try to always start text on the same level as the image (Men in black starts well below for example). Also probably it's better to use wide images instead of 150x150 thumbnail sizes, the screens we use nowadays have outgrown them. Also put spacing between main title (The legend of Polybius) and what follows (date) - and move the image with it. Small style issues, but they add to overall image a lot.

Thanks for the advice, although most of what you're saying is already on my "todo"-list for today.Especially, the fact that the posting date is on the same line as where the article starts has been bugging me for weeks, but I haven't had time to dig into it yet. I agree on what you're saying about wide thumbnails, but most of the games I talk about are from the 80's and 90's and they are all in 4:3 or even narrower (in fact most of the 80's arcade games had a vertical orientation).
I do see that the misplaced thumbnails really looks bad now that you mention it.
I think this is one of the first articles I've ever written, so I'm a complete noob when it comes to all of this. Thanks again for the advice. It's very helpful.
No probs. Yes, these games had 4:3 or vertical layout, but there are many tricks on how to make wide images (let's say article wide and 300px height, so it would just be a nice graphic within the article, that adds to it, but does not force one to scroll for ages). One is to cut into the image, which in many cases could not work, but then another easy and good looking solution is to put next to each-other similar looking images (screenshots) and 3-4 of them will make a horizontal layout. Do it in Photoshop rather than in html, it's more professional.

Nice, and you can replace the Youtube video with this:
<iframe width="630" height="457" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/h1ccH97j63o?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It should be the correct width.

If it's a passion it will never feel like work and you could end up building something big accidently![]()
